ARE YOU BEING LED BY THE BLIND?

If you are guided by someone that is blind, where does that leave you?

We should always consider the accuracy of what our favorite pastor, Bible study teacher, prophet, Christian content creator, apostle, etc. is teaching.

How do we check the accuracy? It is always according to scripture and the Holy Spirit. We know you love them! We know how engaging their messages are! We know how powerful you believe them to be! But if their teachings consistently misinterpret scripture, misuse scripture, manipulate scripture, misapply scripture, with no attempt to correct it, and you accept what they say as true, they are blind and you have allowed yourself to be blind in following them!

If they start teaching you traditions, worldly wisdom, opinions, and giving it the same weight as doctrine, watch!

So let's say, a teacher is teaching you that sometimes it's ok to not listen to the Holy Spirit's counsel because you can never be too sure, based on people's experiences of hearing from God incorrectly. How do you test if this is true? Research the answer to a few questions...

✔️Does the Bible give any scenarios where it is ok to disobey the Holy Spirit?

✔️Are there examples of a junior Holy Spirit and senior Holy Spirit in scripture that could explain the potential reason the Holy Spirit may not be fully functional in a believer's life?

✔️What IS the Holy Spirit's role in a believer's life?

✔️What are ways believers are advised through scripture to test the integrity of what they are hearing from God?

✔️How can scripture be used to assess or confirm if what the person heard the Holy Spirit say is true?

✔️How should someone respond to someone encouraging them to be disobedient to God?

Test EVERY spirit! Because many people are very articulate and are also leading you to a ditch!
